How to Save Iphone Battery


Iphones from Apple are more powerful and more fun as a smart phone. But every iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS user has noticed that the new firmware drains the iPhone battery much quicker than previous firmware versions iPhone user will recharge their phone almost every day. Here some tips how to save your iphone battery by turning off services and iphone features.

Turn off vibrate option
Vibration uses considerable amount of battery, so turn it off if you are in a silent environment. To turn it off just tap setting and sounds.
Change vibrate option to OFF

Dont download from iTunes or App Store using wi-fi or 3g/Edge connection
Downloading iphone application and media is hard on the battery. Just wait until you get home and use your computer or laptop.

Reduce iphone screen brightness
The screen brightens uses more battery power. Change this under your iphone Settings and go to Brightness.

Turning off Wi-Fi
As with 3G if you are in a location where Wi-Fi does not work then you will not need to activate this service on your iphone to save your iphone battery.To change this just tap Settings and go to Wi-Fi and off it.

Turning off 3G
If you are in a location where 3G does not work then you will not need to activate this service on your iphone. By turning it off you double the length of your iPhone 3G battery, 5 hours of talk time to 8 hours. For turning off 3G just tap Settings and go to General and Network
 Change Enable 3G to Off.

Upgrade to latest iphone firmware
You should also check for latest firmware updates for your iPhone and update it accordingly. The best part about the updates is that they are free and you can used iTunes software

Minimise auto-lock time
Set the auto-lock time to a lower level to put the iPhone in sleep mode faster after use. You can manually lock the iPhone by soft pressing the power button at the top. To change this tap setting and go to general. Tap auto-lock and set it to 1 minute.

Turning off push e-mail
If your email, calendar, and address book are kept constantly synced with your Macs or PCs, then youve probably gotten yourself involved with Yahoo Mail, Microsoft Exchange or MobileMe . Its pretty amazing to know that your iPhone is constantly kept current with the mothership but all that continual sniffing of the airwaves looking for updates, costs you battery power. If you can do without the immediacy press Settings and go to mail, contacts, calendars. Change Fetch New Data turning off.

Turning off Bluetooth
If youre not using a Bluetooth headset you need to shut down bluetooth option to save your battery. In Settings just tap General and turn off Bluetooth.

Turning off GPS
If you are not be needing the iPhone to track your location save it the power required to operate the GPS chip and the other location circuits. To change this, press Settings and go to General. Turn off Location Services.

Shutdown iphone apps before locking
Some application still run in your iphone when your lock it. So shutdown the app by pressing the Home button when you have finished using it.

    Being an iPhone user for quite some time already, I’d say the most effective way is just to reduce brightness. Leaving GPS on is alright, unless you don’t need it at all. Turning off 3G is somewhat insane because that’ll make your iPhone into just an, iPod. My thoughts, good tips you got there as well
